I find it somewhat irritating that the Us guys can track their iPhones and we can’t
My 14 days runs out on Monday. iPhone arrives Friday. Hoping special delivery and quick processing their end means I'll just make it!
I've got an iPhone reserved for store pick up between 9-9.30 I also have a watch for store pick up between 10-10.30. What's the probability I'll be able to collect both together at 9AM?
Even though they use EE's network their speeds are capped to 40mbps so beware!
Usually the launch iPhones are in the Uk and will become traceable from Syncron in Hinckley, probably Thursday. The US ones ship from factory to door
even on three i can get 40MB in certain areas that has strong 4G coverage. EE will be even better than thatIf not getting more than 40mbps on a mobile device is a problem I’d be shocked, especially if there is no tethering. All streaming services will work comfortably inside of that.
I wonder how typical across the world the iPhone poll on this thread regarding the X is? I know it's a relatively tiny sample but the 256GB is proving much more popular. All the better for me as I can easily manage with the 64!
Does anyone know if you upgrade early on the iUP can you pay the remaining balance off in cash rather than it coming out of your account you pay the direct debit with?
Considering swapping my 7 for the 8 Plus, I think it would be a nice upgrade camera wise and also get me on the September upgrade for future iPhones.
I imagine there will be people who but the 8 in a few weeks time that have no idea there is an X model coming......and some won't care either! I hope 🙂
I don't know how early upgrades work on IUP but if you mean pay the cash to Apple to settle any finance I doubt it since you will prob need to do online or by phone directly to Barclays Finance.
did you get your phone last year on the launch day?Sometimes true, I’ve had shipments in the past come from the factory. They were shipped by UPS.
If it’s a syncreon logistics delivery, then I’ve had TNT or UKMail deliver.
Last year, DHL delivered my iPhone; first tracking I got was when it was in Germany passing through customs, but it was a bigger palette of iPhones though.
For anything other than "handing your iUP phone in to Apple and getting another iUP phone", you need to deal directly with Barclays who supply the finance for iUP.
You can pay off a chunk of your iUP loan, you can pay off your loan early, you can do what you want, but it has to be directly with Barclays.
That's what I mean, go to the Apple store and give my 7 to them in exchange for the 8 Plus, I thought you paid the remainder to Apple and they pay off your finance and you set up a new one with them.
Is your 7 on iUP?
You don't pay anything to Apple, except the down payment when you take out the iUP agreement.
Yes it is, I just spoke to someone on the Apple chat and they said everything is done at the Apple store, I don't have to deal with Barclays myself. Also they said it's possible to use a different card than the bank you setup the plan with.
Excellent, so things have changed since I spoke to them 2 weeks ago. That's good to know!
Apple Chat Log said:Me:
And all this is done in the Apple store? I don't have to contact Barclays myself?
Matthew:
This would be all done in the Apple Store
Matthew:
They may contact Barclay’s within the store when you are trying to get this sorted but I believe it can all be done in store
Matthew:
I’ve just got the information up, yes this is all done in store
Me:
So it's all done in store and I can pay by a different card to settle the amount?
Matthew:
You should be able to I believe
I always assumed everything was done in the Apple store, it's supposed to be a simple solution to getting a new phone every year. What did Apple tell you 2 weeks ago?
It also says this on the Apple website...
"* Your final eligibility, including any amount owed, will be validated when you upgrade in the store. As part of the iPhone Upgrade Programme you will have to pay a £69 upfront fee, which will be deducted from the total cost. Subject to credit check approval at the Apple Store."
That if you want to deviate from the standard payments by paying more, or closing your account early (before 11 payments) then you need to do that directly through Barclays. However all the above could interfere with your upgrade at the time as it has to show as "cleared" if you aren't "clearing" it by handing your phone back to Apple at the point of upgrade.
That's the thing, I am having my phone back to Apple at the point of upgrade.
From what I've read/been told you go to the Apple store, give your old phone back (for me it's a 7 on iUP) and pay the remaining amount so it's 11 months paid. Then you start a whole new iUP.
DPD here.Which courier is everyones phones coming with? TNT, DPD, UPS or UKMail?
