Good idea on putting the x in favourites will save a little time at least

Think I’m all set on ordering via IUP on the Apple store app on my iPad then on EE via MacBook.

I think that's the best bet, mine is pretty much the same, buy it outright on the 27th through the iPad and then if I am not lucky I will have to wait until the 3rd November to see if I can do the early upgrade with Vodafone (which I really do not want to do)

My mistake! I don’t get out (of this thread) much!
No worries, but every time I see a new poll thread I can’t help but think of Brenda in Bristol

A guy on facebook confirmed the O2 store he is working in is getting less than 5 Iphone X's on launch. Not good news on stock :/
In the last couple of years O2 Stores have taken orders for iphones but not actually received their allocations on launch day. They prioritise their web orders for stock over the stores. I wont be trusting an in store order for launch day delivery.

Can anyone who has gone through the iUP process in store tell me about the application? Do you have to provide your address for the past 3 years? I have lived in my current address for over a year but my report still has my old address! I had an issue a few months ago (was still approved) but using my old address caused further fraud detecting questions which was easily cleared up. I don't want this to happen, would rather provide both addresses, as I am sure Apple will not want to wait around for approval from Barclays. If it helps, I have had in the past finance for Apple products using Barclays and paid off.

I never risk doing it from work, knowing my luck something urgent wound get dumped on me a minute before pre-orders go live.

I don't officially start work until 9.30am on Friday's so will have plenty of time to kill and if I try it at home I won't get a single moment to myself before I go into work!.

Will now be on a business trip so will have one less device to try from. Also jumping on the hotel Wi-fi instead of my home connection. iPhone and iPad apps should be the best route anyway, just don’t like a last minute change in plans/routine

Right I think I have got everything ready for Friday.

1) Setup HSBC for apple pay as the primary payment method
2) Cancelled the EE sim and sticking with Vodafone
3) Added both the black and white iPhone 10 as favourites on the Apple Store app
4) On pre-order day tap favourites then SG then tap Apple Pay.

The final plan after changing my mind so many times is to buy the phone out right using Apple Play through my iPad.

As this is the first time I have tried this is what I want to do possible and will it work ok?

No branding whatsoever and will more than likely be locked to Vodafone. And just try and get the pre-order done as fast as you can really no magic or secrets, just click like crazy and don't delay.
Answered my Own Question, Select Goods.

Please what is SG ?

So is everyone pretty much set for pre-order day? I will be utilising my 3 screens at work and my iPad to full effect on Friday!

Does using more devices enhance your chances of getting in sooner or is it done based on your internet connection? so if I had my phone and iPad connected to my WiFi when one gets in they both do or is it per device so my phone could be in but my iPad still shows as store down?

Each device works independently. Thinking of splitting myself i.e phone over cellular and iPad on the Wi-fi. No idea if this will help or hinder lol!

Yes, you have to select the store and then a 30 minute pick up slot - by the time you’ve done that and completed checkout you’ll probably get a message saying “Sorry, no longer available” - it will be quicker to go for home delivery re the checkout process, the less “clicks” and drop down options the better.

If you buy and then get home delivery can you then go in store and move over to the upgrade programme?

At work we have a 1 gigabit connection and 100mbit wireless so hopefully both are fast enough for me to get the pre-order done.

Does anyone know if ‘Your Apple Store’ changes depending on device location. So if I’m accessing from Bromley on Friday will it remain as Leeds Trinity or would it switch to Bromley. Hoping it’s the former. Thanks

I normally use home WiFi but upload is a crappy 0.5 mb whereas with 4G I’m getting 25mb upload. Do you think upload speed is important? Just to add to the mix my BT infinity activation day is Friday!

In the past people who have used Apple Pay have had issues when it came to the point of the device shipping. This was not a problem at the time of pre order only when Apple went to charge the full amount later in the week. Pretty sure everyone was able to clear the payment with their bank and then Apple retry the payment successfully. No one I recall had any impact to delivery dates

I had that issue last year. Ordered with Apple pay but when it came to taking payment it failed. I called lloyds bank and they told me that the Apple pay payment was showing on their system as a ATM cash withdrawal, which of course you can’t take more than a couple hundred out at a time.

So I just called Apple and changed my payment method to a regular card payment and it was fine. My delivery date was unaffected.

Do we have any coupon codes for MusicMagpie / EnviroFone etc?

Also, how much of a hit does taking iUP make to your credit score? I have good credit at the moment, and am planning on borrowing to put a house extension on soon, but was slightly worried that this would appear as a black mark on my file?

Go into the app, you can search for a store you prefer and ‘save’ it, then select from that list. Saves a few more seconds.

Have the day off on Friday. Just in case I don’t get an early delivery date and I need to ring around/check out operator or other routes

Just saw this aswell! The X is looking great. Apparently Tim Cook had an interview and his comment regarding X avaliabity was :

We’ll see what happens, but we’ll be working as hard as possible to make as many as possible.
