Umm .. are you sure it will charge? .. It's supposed if you attach a metal plate will avoid to charge .. Wireless charging doesn't work with metals, that is the reason why iPhone 8 and iPhone X are made with glass material on back.

So was furious with Vodafone, chatted with them online and they gave me a parcel number...of course its not appearing on the DPD site..perhaps still early days.. but apparently it will be delivered tomorrow. I havent received anything message from Vodafone nor has my online account with them been updated..here is to hoping all goes well.

For those collecting from Apple store, I tried asking if earlier pick up is possible and the answer is no.

Does your receiver support wireless car play? (or are you just doing your hands free and audio integration over bluetooth?)

You need to be cautious about where you get the T513 - some are 7.5w, some are only 5w - same model number.

Choetech has discontinued that model, but it has 18 months of manufacturers warranty!! And it's a 3-coil, so not fussy about your phone placement for it to work (very much needed for the car) 🙂

no JLR have been talking about it for a while but its still 'coming soon'. its bluetooth ATM for me so being able to drop the phone onto a pad in the centre console would be sweet

...can somebody clarify this conundrum for me (I'm probably being stupid!! 😳 )?!

When I went on my Apple Store App to the IUP, to see if it would be possible to exchange my iPhone 8 Plus to an iPhone X (I am NOT looking to change my iPhone 8 Plus - just wanted to see if it was actually possible!!), it stated that in order to do this, I would have to pay the remaining balance of my current IUP, which is around £453), and then hand back the phone (when at the store), which would then enable to me to reserve an X, for collection (again - I am not looking to change).

Unless I am missing something or have completely misunderstood this, why would I have to pay off the balance AND hand back the phone?? 😕 Surely,paying off the balance means the phone is mine to keep, no? Why does it say to pay the balance AND also hand back the phone?!

Yeah that doesn’t sound right. Surely it’s either/or rather than both.

Sorry for the many posts, I’m kinda in a hurry as have to get to work.


It’s all set up, restored (still downloading some apps) and now iOS 11.1 in the background....


Screen is literally amazing edge to edge, I’ve already forgotten about the notch after 20 mins. It’s definitely weighty and reminds my of the iPhone 4 way back, I guess its the chrome and weight?


I’ve come from an iPhone 6S plus and it feels so much smaller in my hand, not sure if I’ll need the reachability anymore which I might miss! If I’m honest, I’d totally welcome the iPhone x with a bigger screen and overall size of the plus range and I got used to that pretty quickly and I have quite big hands.


So face ID might be the second best thing behind the screen, it’s is so fast and natural already. Just tapping and looking at it whilst it’s led on the desk is already a breeze. Equally flicking home is feeling normal!

And to those CPW people that arranged an instore pick up for tomorrow 3rd, I hope you changes to depot pick up like I did yesterday because then like me you will one of the first to have it in your hand and 845 am on 2 November......I wonder how many had it before I did..anyone know..?

All of the magnetic qi ones I've seen use a metal ring or smaller separate magnets to attached the phone/case to the charger - so they are outside of the area where the coil is on the phone.

The sum you mentioned sounds like the 10 additional payments you’d need to make to bring your total payments up to 11. You need to have made 11 in order to upgrade and would have to hand the 8+ in when doing so.

If you pay off the total remaining balance, ie your monthly payment x 19, you could then keep your 8+.

it would be a crazy scenario to up to to the 11 payment and then hand back the phone... you'd probably be better paying it all off and selling the phone privately.. worth doing the maths to see if which works out best

Can’t see how CPW are to blame really as they would have sent to a store if I hadn’t changed the pick up on the app, and the shop staff wouldnt have released it to me

I can see apple doing diddly squat over this.. the volume of handsets, carriers, couriers and the logistics involved.. mistakes will happen... Apple won't care given all the money they will be swimming in this week
