Hi :)
Has anyone yet come across any UK Apple stores that have had a 2nd delivery of iPhones? Anyone know whether these deliveries would be before store opening or likely to turn up at any time throughout the day

Lakeside, bluewater and covent garden had stock today so they say all sold out now tho

I dont know if i should try the regents street or covent garden store tomorrow. By the time one store opens it will be too late to try the other. So confused.

from experience u need to class tomorrow as a launch day and get there early as the scalpers will be there in force, lakeside has daily q's of 40+ scalpers waiting to pounce. big stores (both u listed) will get small deliveries daily.

How early would you reckon ? i was thinking about 8am.

Apparently regents street did not have any this morning.

Well it seems they're trickling in to some stores then.

I popped by my nearest store on launch day morning, they'd obviously sold out, but gave me a card and said call us to see if we have any more next week.

Called them earlier to do just that, I asked if they'd had any new deliveries today and was told "we dont give out delivery information for security reasons, if you want a phone you'll have to order it online" hmm, was very much given the "dont bother the store again!" impression.. :/

Thansk for posting this. Don't suppose you know what time the stock arrived? Was it there for opening or did it turn up while the shop was open during the morning?

Talk of scalpers being on standby isn't ideal.

I popped into the Stratford Westfield Apple store. They said they had a delivery for launch, didn't say how many. Then another delivery on Saturday of less than 200 phones. Nothing since. They guy said that not even they know if they'll get a delivery which includes the iPhones and to just keep on trying.

Guess I'll just be patient and wait for mine to be delivered. I have the 32gb Space Grey on order - 7-10 days... The wait only increases the anticipation!

Interesting to see if anyone's order updates to shipped in the UK, haven't come across any so far.

Just one important question.

When the apple stores restocked the phones and had them, did they remove the "Due to the popularity of the iphone 5s we've sold out" sign or did they leave it there and make people ask anyway?

Don't know, never found a store that had stock!

There's a thread called "RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working" (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1643147/). From the screenshot in the first post it looks like a really good system but unfortunately I just checked the UK online store and it looks as if this system is only for the US, or at least it isn't live in the UK yet.

Does anyone know if Apple have ever offered this facility in the UK? Has anyone asked an Apple rep recently whether there are any plans to roll it out in the UK for reserving 5s stock?

There are 4 Apple stores within about an hour of me so it could be a good option for me.

Sorry I can't answer your question, as I'm also a bit unsure as to whether this is available in the UK or not. I've read a few things that would suggest it might be, but nothing 100%. As you say, seems a decent option, would like to know the answer also.

I tried a dummy run on the US store out of interest, and that works no problem. However, I have tried various items in the UK store (iPad, iTouch etc) and nothing comes up with the option to reserve and pick up. Seems odd that things that are in plentiful supply are unavailable to reserve if the system is actually in place in the UK. Daresay it may just have been temporarily suspended for the new iPhone launch though.

Both my local apple stores (Watford and Brent Cross) have yet to receive a second delivery. I get the impression that the UKs stock has been heavily neglected from all the reports. It seems on average uk apple stores were getting around 60-100 5s devices, which suggests national stock was paltry. It's disappointing really. I've been calling the local stores daily and they say the same thing each time - they don't know when they will get more stock. I suspect stock will trickle in over the coming week, which will mean that for those of us at work it'll remain impossible to get hold of one.

I'm going Covent Garden first thing so will update then.

Post back if you can chaps, 9am I need to be at work so I can't go and queue every day. Could make it down there at lunch though.

Cheers

I popped into apple store Stratford and the guy said they've sold out. They had 2000 on launch day sold out by end of day. Next delivery for them is October were his exact words. Then he tried to sell me a 5c. Not looking good got an O2 recycle rapidly running out of time not happy with apple on this launch!

Great thread guys. Really useful to keep us updated on whats going on in London.
I'm going to be there on holiday this upcoming weekend, and I'm hoping to be able to pick one up then. Do you guys think I might get lucky or will I have to suck it up and wait until its arrives in my country (Malta)?

BS they had 2000 on launch day. More like a few hundred only! The other London stores (inc. the some of the biggest in the world, C.Gdn & Regents St) only had that amount, so why on earth would the medium Stratford have 2000!
Completely untrue info you've been told there mate – the Apple staff had been told to keep release day numbers "hidden" (due to embarrassingly low stocks), so many of them just make up the figures (I know an Apple store staff member).

I'm thinking to be there for a few minutes after 9. Still not decided whether to give it a go. If you see someone queuing with a blue Brompton bike, that'll be me :)

I'll be there in 5min. I'll be the lanky dude in a blue body warmer.

----------

No iPhone 5S's at Covent garden so don't bother going.
