Guess us unlucky date slippers won’t be getting a date bump.

Anyone have Amazon updates? My AirPods just say ‘order received’

My AirPods order says the same, no delivery date or anything. Cancelled and ordered from Curry's with launch day delivery.

Well i've finally had an update its arrived at the dhl sorting centre near me according to google maps its 20 ish minutes away if they drove directly to me. Its actual the other side of my city from my house lol. Will be interesting to see how long it takes tomorrow.

Ya that’s why, I think London is handled by different DHL division?
I asked ChatGPT about Waybill numbers and WhatsApp notifications for DHL deliveries in the UK:

it comes down to how Apple and DHL handle the shipment data and communication consents. Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:
  1. Different DHL services are used
    • Apple doesn’t always ship using the exact same DHL product.
    • Some iPhones go out on DHL Express, others on DHL Parcel UK or even subcontracted last-mile delivery.
    • Features like WhatsApp opt-in tracking are only available on certain DHL services (mainly DHL Express).
  2. Data provided by Apple at dispatch
    • For DHL to send you proactive updates (SMS, email, or WhatsApp), Apple must supply your contact details with the shipment booking.
    • Sometimes Apple passes on your mobile number and email, sometimes only your delivery address (for example, if you didn’t enter a mobile number at checkout, or if Apple’s system didn’t flag your order for proactive notifications).
  3. Rollout & regional availability
    • DHL’s WhatsApp integration is a relatively new feature. It’s not yet universal across all UK shipments.
    • It’s being rolled out gradually, so some customers get the option now, and others don’t.
  4. Customer consent and preferences
    • DHL can only send WhatsApp messages if they have your consent (opt-in).
    • If Apple didn’t tick the box to allow DHL to message you through that channel, you won’t see the option.
🔑 In summary:
  • Whether you get a DHL waybill number with detailed tracking or WhatsApp updates depends on the specific DHL service Apple used, what contact details Apple passed on, and whether DHL has enabled that feature for your shipment.

I don’t think they use Syncreon any more.

I had a MacBook from China and it was UPS all the way.
Last time I remember seeing an Apple product come from Syncreon was my 2013 MacBook Pro delivered 2 days before the 2014 refresh 🙄 maybe my 6S+ although I don't remember much about the tracking for that I thought it was UPS or DPD as I remember trying to setup my UPS account. My 2018 MBP was UPS the whole way so somewhere between 2014-2015 time was the last for me, I remember my first iPhone 5 being delivered by iPost and my grandparents thinking it was something todo with Apple themselves.

Another reasons to hate DHL more, whats funny, I have another delivery from Apple for another completely unrelates to this pre-order seasons for the phones but I was provided with the Waybill, why this but not the other, not like my details has changed or missing.

Regardless, I appreciate the information you have provided and my BBQ for tomorrow is ready for the day to enjoy and await this legendary delivery driver who will make my day a little better to myself and my wife.

Well two orders shipped, one already on the way to the local depot the other has a DPD link but not in the app or trackable via Apple.

Both DPD but very different tracking numbers, very weird see how things look in the morning.

Nothing from Amazon for me. Ordered about 13:05 on preorder day. Just got confirmation of my order, app says they’ll email when they know the delivery details.

Not heard anything since then. Money hasn’t been taken yet either.

Went with Amazon as I had 400 worth of vouchers. Thankfully I’m abroad atm so not much of an issue if it arrives tomorrow or next week.

Morning, I managed to get a few hrs of sleep, no movement still for DHL, but DPD is in my local depot South Circular depot, hurray!

I might pop to Westfield in WC near my house in the morning while I do my morning training and see the queue of people at the Apple Store. I remember last year it was quite a significant queue.
