I have an iPod touch, on order, sice 5/09. I have been reading about the recent problems some people have been having with 'negative blacks'. Do you think I should cancel my order from the Apple store online, until the problem has been fixed, or do you think I should hold on to the order, and hope that :apple: fix the problem by the time they ship UK orders?

I am in the same position as you. Basically my thoughts are :

1. The screen / hiss problem does not affect all touches so you may get lucky anyway and get a good one 🙂

2. As you suggest if it is batch related hopefully Apple will have quarantined the bad ones in the factory by now and we will get a good one 🙂 - I think if you buy one from a store you are more at risk as Apple has less control over defective units in the UK 3rd Party retail chain.

3. If I do get a touch with a problem I will return it

And remember kids... British Distance Selling Regulations allow you to return these babies up to 7 days after delivery. 🙂

So whats apples policy on returns in the UK?

Do you have to take it to a store rather than sending it in?
Even if its un-opened?
How many days do you have?
etc...
