UK Members Need some help as to what these numbers are

Hi

Family members just came back from Wales

They brought me some Car Books

A lot of the cars have (54-56 etc) beside the name of the car(not a model year 2002-2005)

What do these numbers mean (54-58)

If it's on the license plate then the 58 means the car is a September 2008 model. 08 means March of 2008. 09 means March of 2009, 59 means September of 2009 etc etc.
