Did anyone else have an original iPhone with O2 in the UK and then upgrade it to a 3G? If so, what does your account on the O2 website show as the contract renewal date?

I just checked mine and it is showing as 18 months after I got the original iPhone rather than 18 months after I got the 3G iPhone. I was under the impression that I signed up for a new 18 month contract when I got the 3G iPhone, which doesn't seem the case based on the date being shown.

I'm guessing O2 have made a mistake, either the date shown is incorrect or they failed to update the renewal date. I'm hoping its the latter as then I should be able to get another cheap upgrade when the next version is released.

I got the upgrade in October.

I checked the dates and the renewal date is 18 months from when I registered my original iPhone give or take a day or two, and 12 months plus a week from when I got the upgrade.

I dunno why that's happened.

It's not exactly your fault though. You might be able to get an upgrade sooner than the rest of us...
