The only way to try the 1.3 is to order it as both apple stores in London say they won't display it.

So if I order it and return it - who pays for return postage?

The staff at the store couldn't tell me.

Apple do. They send a courier for it.

Apple will arrange a free courier collection for you, and by UK law - if you ordered it online - they also have to refund any original shipping charges (though it's usually free).

They're not obliged to pay for the collection or return postage (under UK consumer law it's the consumer who legally is required to pay to get the item back to the supplier if it was distance sold), but - as many companies do - they offer completely free returns as an additional service.

Always been happy with returning things to Apple, very easy!
