Hopefully they realised that they actually forgot to add anything new.
However as someone has said it is probably just to fix what they broke.

They tease by going down on you?

Did you not see the Ultraportable on the store before it went down again?

don't know why there is any excitement, Europe is never going to get something new before USA does...

So... free WiFi hotspots exclusive to the iPhone, in the UK, NOT America!!!

Up yours! :p

Only kidding, of course you are right, but the point is that all of the stores are going down.

The truth is, they are updating the back end, due to redesigns to all stores, there are no doubt bugs being ironed out. But this is macrumors, and everyone loves to hope!

I hear you...

I'm sure the downtime can only mean one thing:

Every European customer gets 100 Euro of in-store credit to make up for how they have been screwing us over for the last couple of years

- iTMS: 1 year wait for Europeans
- iPhone: 5 month wait for 3 countries, 1 year for the rest
- longer delivery times for everything
- European customers get their pre-ordered products 2 weeks after they have become available in US retail-stores
- much higher prices for just about everything
- abysmal support for all products, including .mac, .mac being slow as heck in Europe and of course much more expensive
- no retail-stores in 99% of Europe
- no iTunes Store video content for 99% of Europe (Apple-TV, of course, still costs more in Europe, although it's not usable)
- have I forgotten anything?

Seriously - it'd be about time that they lower their prices with the US dollar being so weak. They've done that before, about two years ago, when the dollar was equally low.

now I'm depressed...

Yeah, I was going to say, I'd be highly surprised if they were to release something (especially Leopard) without a big event and massive fanfare!

Realism

Did people actually expect one of Apples biggest upcoming product launches (Leopard) to be at 11:24am on a random Tuesday with no fanfare at all?

Realism is the word here, I possibly thought maybe pre ordering, with shipping at end of the month, but even that would come with more fanfare. Everyone seems to be having Pre orders for new products now.
