Looks like the stores do have pretty limited stock unfortunately. There also seems to be a backlog as a few of us with 9am collection times have been turned away until the orders go through to the store.

The order has gone through online but not gone to the store yet. Very frustrating tbh as I’ve got meetings to attend and am keeping extending parking!

Was the stock limited online - does the store not have enough stock for your orders?
 
Seems the 2TB is the key on a few set ups.

No way of pulling my order forward from a delivery that is still a month away!

  • 1TB SSD storage
  • Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
  • 64GB unified memory
UPDATE: Actually Max seems to kill "collect today". I guess there's not a lot of logic over "bog standard" but some BTO options exist as demonstrated above.

Damn that wait is painful!

Same thing happened to me in Germany. Ordered 5:37am for pickup at 9:15am. Was sent away. Currently it’s 10:51am and I’m still waiting for an email with next steps.

I think it’s entirely possible that they’ve sold our stock at opening to others.
 
I am due to pick my order up today at 12:00 noon from the Apple store. It still says 'processing your order' on my order status and that I will receive an email when it is ready for pickup.

As I have a check-in window to pick-up at 12:00 noon, do I just turn up then and it will be ready or should I wait for the email to be received confirming it is ready?

Wait for the second email! Otherwise you’ll be sent away like us. Best of luck that you’ll still get it today.

Got mine. Went in 30 before my slot and all was good.

Just received an email from Apple store in London that it is ready for pickup!

Will head down for my check-in appointment at 12:00 noon.
 
Update: I’ve just received the email that it’s ready for pickup. 2h late, but I still get it!
 
Random question but for people picking up - do you get offered a bag for the box at all?

I don't think it will fit in my backpack but I don't want to walk around Central London with the box on show...

Got mine now - email came through about 90 minutes late. The stock is reserved when your order is accepted, so there's no concerns that your laptop has been sold to someone else, but its just really inconvenient.

That is good to know. I am hoping sales go live in the US soon its 5:43 am now.

Just picked up the stock 16” Max configuration (M1 Max 10/32, 1 TB, 32 GB, Space Grey). Had to go to Stratford Westfield as both Covent Garden and Regent Street were unavailable (even at 07:00 this morning), but the specialist there said they still had plenty in stock.

I booked my pick up for 15:30 today at Bristol. Have an email with a QR code and a text message confirming this.

I did however order a space grey rather than silver, quite unintentionally. Might ask for silver when I get there but happy to stick with the space grey.
