iPhone 4, T-Mobile UK, Google maps.

It's very impressive for me - pretty much on the nose wherever I am.

The geotagging of camera photos is just as accurate.

Very happy bunny.

It's calling Google Maps and overlaying the cell towers over the top. Or it should do, it can't because location services is not working. If I open Google Maps then the blue dot is in exactly the same place..because that is in effect Google Maps anyway.

I was just checking because I had seen some people in the US getting a similar issue with the "Signal" App.

It was showing a nonsensical location and cell sites that obviously didn't exist.

Very accurate. If I'm at home, it's within about 10 metres. When I'm outside (or in a less-shielded area e.g. conservatory), it's pretty much spot on. I'd say 3-5 metres.

iPhone 4, O2, north east England.

About 1 mile out of the South Bank and it was less flakey. By the time got to Old Street, EC1 it was working fine.

This is REALLY weird.

For me it is very accurate (iP4, o2) when I’m in central London, when I’m at home (Herts) it occasionally thinks I’m about a mile down the road.
I have a JB’d iP4 with PlanetBeings ‘Signal’ app installed, when I noticed the location was off I loaded signal and it showed I was connected to a GSM tower about 3 miles down the road, not the tower slightly closer in the opposite direction.
I can only assume its calculated my location from this tower, I also had poor signal at the time.

EDIT>

I just loaded Signal to check, It showed me connected to the furthest tower and my location was about a mile out, then it connected to the tower closer to my house and my location changed to exactly where I am.
So, its due to the tower its connected to i guess. I only purchased Signal to support the Dev, never thought I’d use it! :)

EDIT 2>

Anyone using Signal should update in Cydia, and always remember to terminate the process when done :p

Update

I removed the JB from my phone..I restored to 4.01 (Apple have stopped signing 4.02 and I don't have blobs for 4.0!)

Im in SE1 today and Maps WORKS! I have no issue whatsoever. I'll keep testing for a day then re JB and see if the issue comes back.

I'd like to JB right now but don't have WiFi and I think the JB is about 40MB?
