Isn’t it around now people start locking in their prices at Envirofone and whatnot? I’ve just got a quote from Music Magpie for my iPhone 15 Pro Max 256gb for £680. Anyone seen/gotten any better?

I always sell through Facebook marketplace. I don’t trust eBay and not keen on selling fees. I like to hand over face to face for cash and there’s less chance of the buyer trying to scam you by damaging the device and trying to return it, or returning a totally different device and the selling platform siding with the scammer. You can also vet the people trying to buy too.

I always sell used devices on eBay. I wait for a weekend when there is an offer for either 80% or 100% off selling fees (which happens often), and I always post it insured and signed for. I have never had an issue.

Always sell on eBay, and touch wood never had any issues. Facebook marketplace is okay if you’re prepared for loads of attempted scams…

Usually just send mine to mazuma or something. Might just sell it locally though this time round. I don’t usually upgrade until a few months have passed (easier to get hold of)

Either Apple trade-in if the iPhone is young enough to still have significant value (rare), or donate to a local women’s shelter where they are very much appreciated. This also generates a slight tax deduction, at least in the US.

Apple trade-in in the UK is abysmal, bordering on them taking the proverbial urine. Its fine if you want to trade-in for £200 less than you’d get selling private, but that’s far too much money to be giving away to a $2T company IMO.

Nah, I'll stick with my iPhone 15. I like that it has a Type-C charger, and I don't see the need to change it until iPhone 18 or 19. I usually change my phone once every 4 years. My last one was the iPhone 11, and it was great as well.

No one; old iPhones get relegated to permanent chess server status w/apps matched to e-boards. Dunno why I do this b/c anything about an A12X plays 2900+ elo and I am not in that kind of chess goodliness (Am ~1600 and 40ish years ago I was ~2100 > all down hill from there as computers evolved and I didn’t).

Or home automation controllers

If I sell my 15PM it'll be via eBay

Their Managed Payments is hassle free now; no PayPal scammers to deal with; sold as a Buy it Now/Best offer etc

Never had any issues over the last few years selling my iPhones (as well as other Android mobiles, iPads etc), sell when the 80% off final fees offer is live and it sells within a few days

MM, Evrifone etc IMO take the piss re their pricing; always manage to get a couple £hundred more via eBay

I may sound like a dumbass right now, but what is Magpie?

Buy & sell website... However they rarely offer a sensible price to buy your phone/device IMO

It's a business; they've got to make their cut too and I get that

Just had a quick nosey and found We Buy Any Phone - never used them or heard of them before but they are “offering” £741 for iPhone 15 PM 256GB in ‘good’ condition.
