Got daughter a Xr for Xmas, now they put the trade in deal on for Xr trade in old iPhone

So I can take back (only opened Xr hadn't activated or anything yet), I believe and trade in a iPhone 7 32Gb for £220.

Just wondering if the iPhone, it's in great condition, out of warranty, is that a decent price for a trade in? Obviously less hassle and only need iPhone I expect.

Thanks

No one? I'm wondering if this is an actual "deal" anyway now? What was the read in beforehand? Is it more if your trading in against an Xr during this "limited time deal" anyway?

$280 USD for a 32gb 7 is great but thats like $949 for a XR @ MSRP with conversion, so the gap is pretty wide

I have a similar dilemma. I have a 6S Plus 128GB and I bought a XS Max before the better trade in rates from Apple.

I can get £250 on eBay for the 6S Plus or £200 trade in with Apple. After all the eBay fees, postage and the risks that go with it all, the trade in offer is the more attractive option. I spoke to Apple and they will do it....but I need to return my Max and re-purchase a new one in store.

I have my mobile service as an eSIM which I would need to get re-provisioned and then a trip to the Apple store for a refund and re-purchase. I think the path of the least resistance would be to sell the 6S.

£200 trade-in with Apple is a good deal though as the phone just has to be working with a non-smashed screen to qualify.

Are they increased rates though currently? I don't know what they were before?

The benefit as you say is fees, risk etc, much much easier to go to store and have it instantly done, is rather for the price difference. Also you'll get a new warranty starting as well so newer as well I expect.

Yes they are increased for a limited time. For the 6S Plus, I think it was £150 before, now its £200.

I stumbled across www.tradein.co.uk this morning. I haven’t heard of them before but they are offering good rates (better than Mazuma Mobile anyway) and seem to only care about whether the device is working or not. They offer £210 for my 6S Plus.

Might be worth a shot if you want to avoid a trip to the Apple Store.

You could also look on Money Saving Expert as they used to have a price comparison checker.
