A great team did a remake of Ultima V called 'Lazarus' which is done in the Dungeon Siege engine. So if you have DS (not DS2), go here and download Lazarus! If not, get DS and THEN get Lazarus!

There is also an Ultima 6 remake available here - same deal. Also very much awesome from what I played ... but I haven't finished that like I did U5 so I can't fully comment!

You can get all the old DOS versions of Ultima and play them with DOSbox fine

Don't forget Exult - a re-implementation of Ultima 7 (part 1 and part 2) for modern operating systems (including OSX.) It's been "under development" for many years but the current "release candidate" version is more than playable.

You'll need a copy of Ultima 7 to play it, but that's not too hard to find.

U7 parts 1 and 2 are by far my favorites from the Ultima series.

I always had a soft spot for the old 3/4 iso view Ultimas. Would be something on an iPad.
