Following my post (post #504 : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1799334/), over the weekend, I received Ultimate Shield's Titanium Glass screen shield to try out.

Here are some pics of the product before installation:

As you can see, the glass screen shield is surrounded by an titanium alloy frame. When I first removed the shield from the packaging, initially, I thought the frame was just plastic, but on closer inspection, it is indeed a soft metal frame (it is pliable if you bend it -just to make you aware) with the glass screen shield fixed to the frame.
The glass screen shield itself is what makes the thing adhere to your phone - meaning that there is no adhesive or anything on the actual frame itself.

So, onto the installation! Its pretty easy to install this to you phone. Just peel back the protector on the shield, align the top earpiece holes and the home button, and lower it onto the iPhone 6. As you can also see from the pics, all the holes have gold/brass coloured accents. Not sure why this is - but personally, I think it would have looked better without this colouring but it is what it is!

Here are some pics after the installation:

The shield and the frame are quite think, I think, and it will add a considerable thickness to your phone. The home button becomes quite deep (I found myself using my nail to press it instead of the ball of my thumb, in order to compensate for the thickness.)

The colour of the frame also blends quite nicely with the space gray iPhone 6 - not sure how it would look on other different colourerd iPhones but I'm sure that Ultimate Shield probably have different coloured frames.

Looking at the phone from a face down perspective (pictures 1, 2 and 5), the shield looks seamless with the edge of the phone (which looks really good!) however, when you then view the phone from the edges (pictures 3 and 4), you can see that it is not so seamless.

There is no overhang of the shield on the phone (like there is with some other glass screen protectors) so that it definitely a good thing. Sensitivity of the protector is also good although, I did have trouble getting the bottom corners to adhere properly (you can see this in the last pic - bottom left corner kept wanting to peel back up).

I didn't get the chance to go out and about with the shield so can't unfortunately comment on any signal issues but I'm guessing that the shield will not cause any issues!

To summarize:

I will say that all in all, it is a good product. It certainly makes the phone stand out and look unique. If the gold/brass accents were black or silver (to match the rest of the case) it would have looked even better. If you can get past the added bulk that this screen shield offers, then it is a good product and highly recommended.

i didn't want to be the first to say so, glad someone else did but i have to agree

I agree.. I would not say its ugly. It is just not that pretty to look at. It looks cheap in the picture painted with poor quality paint. Looks plastic. But as what the user said, its not.. Still the appearance is unpleasant. No class.

It doesn't look awful from angles but the fact it doesn't match the space grey doesn't look great.

Shame that this is just another work around to try and get a screen protector that fits the curved edges.

His phone now looks like one of the iPhone knock offs. Chinese android copy cats look better with this screen shield installed on a beautiful iPhone.

Can someone tell me where is the beauty with that screen protector?

@dinoF how long do you intend to keep that on your phone?

lets be real. he took that off right after he took pics.

...have to be honest here - ihonda, you are indeed correct!! I did indeed take it off right after the pics!

I literally got sent it to write a review and post some pics on here. Its not something I would use and I do agree with all the comments posted in this thread already.

I also use a folio style case, with a magnetic flap which keeps the flap sticking to the iPhone screen (even when upside down!) and NO glass screen shield will work with my case (the magnet is not strong enough to go through the glass to hold the flap in place so I have to use the standard plastic flimsy style protectors instead)) so that was another reason I took the shield off.

reviewer to reviewer products like this hurt our rep! saying NO is takes less energy and is easier then saying YES LOL

You highly recommended the product tho...

yet you state here that you agree with the negative comments in the thread on the same product?

I'm not liking that one bit. Basically you are using us and MacRumors, no Bueno.

...I recommended the product if you like this sort of thing. Its a screen shield which not everyone will like - some will and some won't.

I recommended it purely because the product itself is faultless - nothing wrong with and it works as advertised. I also agreed with the negative comments, again, purely, because its not a product I would personally use. Yes its bulky and yes it looks cheap but for some, it will still work as a good screen protector - its just not for me.

I didn't 'use' anyone. I was asked to install it and post up a review - and that's exactly what I did. Nothing more, nothing less.

I like the idea, but not the execution. It really cheapens the look of your iPhone. If it was done in a more elegant and refined way I could see how this might be useful. You could certainly create a unique iPhone by having a white face on a space grey iPhone, which might be fun for a while.

If the intent is to destroy the looks of an already gorgeous iPhone that in no way needs a screen protector ... then this product is exceptional!
