Question: Best fan control software for 2009 mac pro?

Secondly: has their ever been a thread of the ultimate software you/the masses suggest for mac Pro?

Has it been deemed the 2009 needs fan control?

As for Mac Pro software, I'd imagine anything that is multi-core aware is an obvious choice. Mine would be HandBrake. The latest version can chew through Shrek in under 18 minutes on the Apple TV preset - and that's on an entry level '09 2.66 Quad Mac Pro!

I don't really get this question.

"Ultimate" software will depend entirely on what you're doing with your computer. Not much point in decking it out with every pro app for every area if all you're partial to is a bit of iTunes/Safari.

How about an ultimate list of the best utilities for monitoring / maintaining your Mac Pro"

... that's something I could benefit from as a relative new-commer to OS X from Windows.

I started using OSX a few months ago and here's my Toolbox.

MacTheRipper, HandBreak , VMWare Fusion, iStat, CoRD are also very useful. The ultimate list for you would probably depend on what kind of work you do (graphics, development, networking etc).

    I'll play along:

My Macs are useless to me without a copy of Photo Mechanic. I probably spend more time in PM then all other programs combined.

Probably not of much use to you though! :D

What about media/codecs to play AVI's?

    System monitoring?

    What else?
