At the moment I get very close to three full days (always on is off) with an hour run a day - pretty damn impressive as my Ultra 1 would need charge every day in the end
I have run it on my AWU3 for a night and a day. Here's what I saw:Does anyone use their Ultra 3 on Low power mode, any downsides to it?
I have run it on my AWU3 for a night and a day. Here's what I saw:
Significant decrease in background heart rate monitoring.
No Blood Oxygen measurements.
Workouts had to manually be started - no more "Hey, looks like you're doing a workout" popup.
Complications would update as I woke up the watch - rise to wake (it was almost immediate so this isn't a negative imo).
Sleep data was significantly reduced. (Reminded me of earlier Watch OS days).
BUT I burned LESS than half the battery I normally did. So I think I could get 5+ days (on my usage) if I did this.
I love the data so it's off. Also, I'm part of an Apple Health study so I noticed it might affect that. Otherwise I probably wouldn't mind running it more often. But if I'm ever on a work trip and I forget my charge cable - I could make that last forever with that option - so it's nice knowing it is there.
I charge all my devices, AW, iPhone, iPad etc, to 100%. These are tools for me and the battery is a consumable. I happen to have AC+ on my U2, 17PM and iPad...What is everyone’s consensus on battery charging limits. Is 80% the best for the Ultra 3, or it doesn’t matter to charge to 100% ?
I get it if you’re away for a 2-3 days and can’t charge your watch so will charge to 100% to get the longest duration. But what if you’re at home and can’t charge charge anytime, what’s your go to limit? Please share
what would it be like with AOD on?With always on off, I can have an hour of GPS run a day and after 48 hours still have 25% left on the battery. I have LTE on and use it while running, so it burns a bit
Let's make the first of two tests then - AOD is now turned on. I put the watch back on before going to bed last night with 100% (AOD is always turning off automatically at night anyway) and I'm at 93% at almost 11AM here.what would it be like with AOD on?
and, what if LTE is off? And I understand you might not want to run that test
Yesterday was a longer run than usual and a 1,5 hour sauna session afterwards - so might be a bit tougher on the battery - on the other hand I'm 9 hours from my 48-hour limit and the battery is already down to 27% and I haven't been on my run today. So AOD has a pretty big impact - and to be honest not something I really find that usefull. Will see if I can get to tonight, but seems like a stretch alreadyLet's make the first of two tests then - AOD is now turned on. Have turned it on and my estimate would be that I could still go the 48 hours, but not have 25% left - but let's see.
LTE will stay on for now and might make the opposite test afterwards, just to see what impact the LTE has and AOD has seprately.
