Have seen a few 'rumor' video's and webpages about the Apple Watch Ultra 4 that 'may' be coming in September.

Of the suspected updates, I'm looking forward to a thinner design the most. Not that the Ultra 3 is to big but a bit thinner would be 'gooder' IMO.

Personally the current battery life is fine with me. I generally charge it 15-20 minutes a day while I shower.
Longer life would be nice though.

Thoughts?

Unless there are new health sensors/features, my U2 will last another year.
And keep in mind, rumors of AWs have been sparse and more often wrong than not historically.

If there is one it will most likely only be a spec bump. I'm not upgrading my Ultra 2 (2023) until 2028 when hopefully the blood oxygen sensor is back on the new watches again with mostly likely some other new sensors as well.

Doubt very much it will get a redesign this year. Probably the usual upgrades, most of the talk has been about Touch ID which I guess they could put in the action button.

In the past, Apple has done a redesign of the Apple Watch after every 3 model versions. There was a redesign of the Apple Watch with Series 4, 7, and 10. I expect the same for the Ultra 4 and the Series 13.
True for the series AW, but the U2 wasn't updated for 2 years, so as much as I'd like to see a redesign, who knows...

Anyone else like that the Ultra has a bulky design? As the series watches get thinner they start to feel like less of a watch and more of a fitness tracker. I’ve grown to like the Ultra design much more and rarely ever wear my Series 10 now.

If the Ultra gets a thinner design, and you prefer the old one, the good thing is that the AWU3 (and 2 for that matter) will probably be fine for four or five years more. You can always just buy the old one right after a new one is announced.

I also prefer the design of the Series 7-9 to the Series 10-11 for all kinds of reasons. I have both a Series 7 and Series 9 that I have kept for that reason. The SE3 is also a good buy for this reason.

Yep - I quite like the chunkyness.

I've had the Ultra 1 since launch and now Ultra 3 and love the design and chunky feel - Makes it feel a bit more like a mechanical divers watch, than a normal Apple Watch.

Apple did a tweak with a tad bigger display and a number of spec bumps, like it did with bigger display on series 4/7/10 so if they go with that pattern, they either wait with Ultra 4 till next year (like they kept Ultra 2 for two years) or go with spec. bumps only this year.

My wife wouldn't let me get the black Ultra 3 - because I'm really pale. But that looks good. Curious what band you're using?

I'm a very big guy... hence my forum name. This watch looks small on me so yeah, I'm one who definitely enjoys the size. G-shocks look small on me I'm told.

How is the battery doing with that display setup? (I assume AOD)?

The band is an eBay knockoff of the Nomad Stratos. Same look for a fraction of the price.

I have around 25% battery remaining after 48 hours so charge every 2 days. Yes it's AOD.

Probably nothing in 2026, may be in 2027 (Of course, the regular apple watch will most likely get an update in 2026 while the Ultra ones do not).
