What do you think about this?

Compass is the only function with I use almost everyday.
I'm so disappointed because now I don't know what to think or what to do and I have got no time to go back to Apple Store about this issue.

I'll try to contact apple tomorrow and ask (if this exists) for an express replacement

Looks like you are using a milanese loop, which has a magnet in it.

Per Apple: The presence of magnets can affect the accuracy of any compass sensor. Apple's Leather Link, Leather Loop, Milanese Loop, and earlier Sport Loop watch bands use magnets or magnetic material that might interfere with the Apple Watch compass

How do you get that compass view on the watch.

Tap on top left

In the compass on the watch ? I tried that and nothing happens. There is one in the top left, one bottom right and bottom left. When I tap on them nothing happens. This in the compass app. They’re all greyed out. This what I have.

This is all I see also! How do you get it to work?

FWIW, I just put the compass on my iPhone 11 side by side with the compass on my Watch 6, both on latest release software, and the result was crazy different

This is all I see with the compass

Based on the screenshot it’s still calibrating. Once it calibrates you should be able to tap in the top left to get to the screen in OP’s pic.

Just put mine next to each other. iPhone 12 and Watch 8. They were both spot on, as expected.

Thank you. I’m not sure how long it takes to calibrate or whether it does it in the background. I don’t want to keep the app open if I don’t have to. Any idea how long it may take to calibrate.

That Watch band is magnetic and Apple warns against it with the compass. Can you post a pic of the other band you tried?

Under location service, scroll to the bottom and select system services, and check that compass calibration is switched on.

I checked and it’s off but there doesn’t seem to be any way to turn it on.

Edit: I just turned it on under system services on my phone and it’s working now. Thank you and everyone else for your help.
