Due to an unfortunate encounter with a metal enclosure earlier this morning, my AWU now has a minor scratch. I’ve seen a few posts mentioning that these can be easily buffed out. Can anyone recommend something I can use to do this? My OCD is already killing me.
Just accept it and move on, you won't be buffing out any scratches, you would just make it worse, for example chaining the level of polish around the scratch, which then won't match the rest of the case.

I've banged some very expensive titanium watches over the years, you just have to accept it as a mark of use and move on.

I bought a fiberglass scratch pen on Amazon for around $9 and used it to remove the scratch. It looks almost perfect now.

‘Anything worn will get scratched or nicked sooner or later. Just a matter of time. I have to admit that the DLC coating on my last two Apple Watches have not suffered even a scuff and still look like new. The ultra has no such coating and will scratch pretty easily. But it will take a ”licking” and keep on going.
Yeh my Series 4 SS has absolutely no marks what so ever, and what im returning to once the Ultra gets returned

Over a month of lifting weights, two door knob bangs, changed the tired on my car, a few weeks of fall yard work, no scratches.

Is the red 3-pack? Can you tell it's been brushed compared to the rest of the finish?
It’s this one:

Scratch Brush, Fiberglass (Colors may vary) https://a.co/d/9pSpzrZ

I brushed it very lightly, in a circular motion. It’s nearly impossible to tell that the watch has been brushed. If someone who’s not aware of the scratch will look at the watch, they won’t be able to tell the difference.

Mind sharing a picture? I’d love to see the results!

You can rub that right out

That sounded wrong
I wouldn't attempt buffing that out. Since it's a dull, matte finish, chances are you'll just shine up that part of the casing and it will look far worse. A low grade sandpaper might smooth it out and make it less noticeable, but even then you're taking a risk.

It's for these reasons that I've always used these slim screen and case protectors for my S5, S6 and now AWU:

I've always used the clear transparent versions but decided to try the black one. I know some might consider it blasphemy to put a case on an Apple Watch, but it did save my aluminum 6 from an errant hit into a doorknob; the screen protector spidered but the S6 was perfectly fine. When it came time to trade in my S6, and I removed the transparent case, the body and screen of the Watch was in excellent condition. I know these are "tools" and aren't meant to be museum pieces but I do like to take care of things I own and it's affordable protection for added peace of mind.

What would happen if in UK you are paying the AppleCare+ montly payments

The you accidently smashed the Ultra and use the express servies (£49), and had to cancel the monthly payments a few months down the line?

Do Apple chase you for the remainder payments because you made a claim?
