So should i get the 13 MBA now?

I say you can't go wrong with one, though it's up to you if you want to wait.

Even though I bought a Mac Mini, I like the current 13" MBA. You have the return of the backlit keyboard, a new line of processors which are quite an improvement over the old ones, and a Thunderbolt port.

On the flip side, the new Ivy Bridge processors will support OpenCL and improved integrated graphics and most likely USB 3.0

Other than that, I don't see 8 GB of RAM on an Air but maybe I'm wrong.

Ivy Bridge is currently set for a tentative release of Spring 2012. Now, don't get nervous if it doesn't hit in late March or early April. I would expect it more around late April or even early May.
Delays were announced. Not until "late 2nd quarter" now.

Don't hold your breath, you'll explode.

In unrelated news, I hate facebook for giving me unwanted muscle memory to press the shift key for every para break lest I make an unwanted, unfinished post.

New screen resolutions and 15" MacBook Air

They're still going to want to have a line with proper graphics. I think they'll have a macbook line which is an expanded air line, 11, 13 and 15 inch, and a pro line, similar to now, but dropping the 13" option, 15 and 17" MBP's.

2012 MacBook Air line up should introduce some new design changes and the new 15" Air:

11" Air : 1366x768 (16:9 ratio, no change)

13" Air : 1600x900 (bump from the current 1440x900, 16:10 ratio)

15" Air : 1920x1080 (Mythical ??, better than 1680x1050 16:10 ratio on hi-res 15" MBP)

Not a big fan of 16:9 rez, but since Apple already selected 16:9 on 11" MBA (and their iMac lineup), to be consistent across the board, they should bump it to 1600x900 on the 13" MBA.

Along with the 4GB RAM, 256 SSD, FHD 1080p on the 15" MacBook Air as standard, it should get an extra USB 3.0 port w/ Ivy Bridge Processor, 3.5mm Mic input, kensington lock, big battery for the big screen that gets ~ 10 hours and an option for 8GB RAM/512 SSD

That might explain the late 2011 MBP update. I say it's for the best anyway. Best to not rush it and have what happened with Sandy Bridge in the beginning of this year.

Edit: I just searched to find a news story link. Source for your claim?

The 15" version sounds just like what I'm waiting for; not too fussed about the form factor though, would be nice if it was in a dense alloy black colour.

I think tha would make it unportable for me. I just want a 13" air with 360gb SSD or more.

15" MBA would be perfect. I have a dv6 HP 15.6". thing is much heavier than an air but I don't really think portability with it is even an issue so I know that a 15" MBA would not be a problem, at least for me. But like the OP said, it's gotta have 360gb SSD or more. 8gb of RAM would also be nice, but not a necessity for me to buy. I just want this to come out soon cause my HP is not in good shape

It is amazing how big heavy and clunky the MBPs feel after one has spent much time with an MBA.
