I bought a Braided Solo loop and put it on my Ultra the other day, but you can see the band is still a tad smaller in width than the slot that the band slides into, leaving just a little of the slot exposed on either side.

I know Apple says the Ultra will work with 45mm bands, but anyone else notice its not an exact fit? I was hoping that a 45mm band would fully fill the opening where the band slides into. Maybe its petty but all I see is that fitment when I wear another band lol.

Anyone find any bands that fully fit the watch as well as the Ocean band or other 2 band styles it can be ordered with?

Maybe Apple needs to come out with a 49mm band lineup?

My 45 bands fit just fine. This apple band is about 5 year old

Yes, I got the rainforest one on Monday and that spacing is something that’s bothering me a bit, especially since it’s $99. It’s also my first BSL so I’m worried about it stretching since MOST of the mentions of BSL on this forum are about stretching. Just this morning I placed mine back in the box to return it.

By the way, my new Solo Loop fits and looks much better in that regard, so I’m keeping that one.

edit: the link bracelet and others are a good fit. Not perfectly flush like it is on my S4, but close enough for me.

I just tried one of my older regular sport bands, and it is a perfect fit. So not sure why my new Braided Solo Loop doesnt fill that up properly. Sadly I loved the band when I bought it (Bought it a few days before my Ultra was purchased when I had my Series 7 SS) so I did not keep the box for the band, so returning mine is not an option I do not think even though I am still in the window. First time I have ever not kept any box for a band, figures.

The braided loop lugs are horrible. Almost as if they wanted the bands to me a little bit small for the larger watches and a little bit for the smaller ones

I hadn't noticed this until I checked just now and yes, my BSL lugs are small too. But then I went to my OG leather loop that I used with my series 0 (so 42mm) and it's a perfect fit. So I would say it's more an issue with the BSL and not all bands.

Even my aw 7 braided sport loop band, which is 45 mm leaves a bit of space too with the 45 mm.
That is the band we are saying is the culprit. Seems the other bands fit perfectly, besides the braided solo loop. I bought mine for my Series 7 SS 2 days before I bought the Ultra, so yesterday was the first time i tried the band on the new watch.

This is a known issue with braided solo loops since launch. If you look back through the “Show off your Apple Watch” and “Every Apple Watch band Apple released. Ever.” threads (particularly the pages after the introduction of this band in Fall 2020), you‘ll see that most of the time the sides of the BSL lugs don’t extend all the way to the edge of the band slot.

I‘ve noticed that even some my old 42 and 42 mm bands don’t line up quite as nicely as my 49 mm Ultra-specific and (to a lesser extent) my 45 mm bands. The issue is certainly most prominent on BSLs, but the comfort outweighs the visuals!

Here is mine with the Apple Black Link Bracelet, think im going to pick up the silver one

As you said it must be that band. I’m currently using a 45mm Sport Loop band on my Ultra, I prefer the fabric to the trail loop that came with the watch but I go back and forth and use both essentially. With the 45 there may be a 1mm gap on both sides that’s only noticeable if I pull the watch up to my eye to look at. I’ve also used a 44mm sport loop that I used with my previous watch and the gap is tiny compared to your pictures. However the 44s are longer than the 45 versions so the band wraps completely around my wrist and lays against the other side of the watch. The 45s are perfect for the Ultra and available in 2 lengths where the 44s only came in one length.

The Link Bracelet works really well with the Ultra. I love it.

I like the appearance and the heft of the Link Bracelet even more on the Ultra than on my prior SS watches.

When it was introduced, the bracelet felt like a nod toward a beloved Casio watch. It’s easy to see why the metal bezel of the Ultra pairs so well with the bracelet.

I forgot how square the S0 corners were.

I don’t really care for any of the new bands with the ultra. I was playing around in the Apple Store today and my favorite band on the ultra is the Nike sport bands. The same ones I’ve been wearing for 4 years with my S4. The fit was spot on at the lugs too.
