WOULD TOUCH anything BUT a CANON....

i'veowned the optio S, S4 and canon S400 and now S500 (its called IXUS 500) in australia.......

Canon's produce much more accurate colours, better jazzed up colours, MMUCH BETTER PRINTOUTS no doubt.. no comparison..

Plus the OPTIO's have balancing issues in your hands cos they are sooooo small and light..they dont "floa"properly in your hands..

Get a canon IXUS 430 or 500, they are the 4mpand 5mprespectively

They are definately the best in there class and beyond.... they are also portanble and still extremely small...

you can get the IXUS 400 or S400 really cheap these days plus it takes Cf which is superior to SD card.. but i wont get into that.. main advantage larger capacities are cheaper and they have faster writing times...

My girlfriend and I both just got Canon SD110s. They're great! They're small and feature-packed. The picture quality is also very good.

The Canon SD110 is what I seem to be really leaning towards these days. It's a nice balance between the ultracompact cameras and the full-featured larger cameras. Not as small as the SD10 or Optio S4i, but it seems to take much better pictures overall. It's pretty reasonably priced as well, at around $250 from the major online places.

Here's one for you Marianne:)

i'm deciding between the canon s500 and the new sony dsc-t1. i want as many megapixels as i can get for a reasonable price since i intend to keep whatever camera i get for a few years (or at least until my husband lets me get a new one! :p ). i like the size of the sony, but i'm put off by the proprietary memory stick format. i need to get to a store to play with each one a little more marianne

Here's one for you Marianne.

The Kyocera SL300R which boasts virtually zero shutter lag - 0.07s! Here's a review of it...

Or for a few dollars more - around $400 - you can get the identical camera with a Contax badge and a Zeiss lens. Check it out here...
