There are rumors of a new 15” MBA ar WWDC…but are there any rumors of a slimmer ultraportable Macbook that is thinner and lighter than the MBA with a slightly smaller or similar sized screen?

You know, a modern-day version of the 12-inch MacBook running Apple Silicon would make a lot of sense... but no, I've never heard any rumors of it.

Exactly..Apple Silicon should be more thermally efficient and therefor suitable to compact form factors. Imagine if Apple also gave the screen a higher PPI to allow more detail on the same or a smaller sized screen, and give it a more premium feel, the way the 12 inch Macbook was kind of more premium than the original Airs

My 11-inch MBA was pretty much a perfect machine until Retina ruined me. I'd love for Apple to bring it back with Apple Silicon and a modern screen, but I haven't seen any indication that anything like that is in the cards.

Same. I had two of those in a row and they were such solid little beasts. The keyboard was the best I've ever used on a laptop and it was a breeze to carry around.

Miss my 11in MBA from back in the day before water destroyed it. I would buy an updated ultraportable machine asap if it was released.

The 11.6” Air was super portable and quite good performance for its time, but the screen was vertically challenged. It didn’t bother me much as I usually used it with an external monitor unless I was on the road.

it is all relative.

this is funny: i worked with a woman in nyc who had a 20" imac. it died, i helped her setup the new 24" imac. she freaked out at the 'oversized' screen, and asked if there was any way to contain the screen to a 20" diagonal... 🤣
