Anyone successfully add their new Apple Watch Ultra to their xFinity Mobile account? Looking especially for success stories on BYO while swapping off an old AW device.
I would run not walk away from Xfinity unless you enjoy spending hours on the phone with their incompetent tech support…read the posts below. I was one of these trying to activate an S8. I moved to Visible Mobile and my wife’s S8 activated with in minutes and I saved $5 per month in the process compared to Xfinity’s $10 per month Watch costs.
So for anyone else doing a line transfer to a new watch, here are the steps that worked for me:
1) call xFinity Mobile. Tell them you need to add a line for a new watch. You must have one available.
2) provide them your IMEI and ICCID from your new watch.
3) go to Cellular in Watch app and select Cellular
4) add a line and authenticate with xFinity’s systems. Follow their prompts to add a line. Your actions will pair your new watch with the IMEI and ICCID that are now in xFinity’s back end systems.
5) wait for line to activate.
6) call or chat and cancel your previous/old Apple Watch.
Note that you cannot “replace“ your old watch with your new watch in Xfinity’s systems. Apparently, neither can Xfinity’s agents. The ONLY way I found this can be accomplished is by adding a new line and subsequently cancelling the old line. Good luck!
PS. Apparently you get 90 days of free service on the new watch by adding the line, too.

Very easy process, used the iphone watch app for the cellular activation and just followed the prompts as it takes you to the xfinity mobile website to activate. Took less than 10 minutes for the entire process. I did a reset on the watch after activation and tested calls and data, turning off my iphone and my wifi connection. Works seamlessly on cellular, was surprised at how easy the process was.
