Ah yes, I came for the myriad complaints about the subscription offering that has absolutely nothing to do with the blog piece, posted by folks who already spend lots of money on various subscription services but zero in this particular one as being beyond the pale.

Endlessly amusing.
Ah yes, the comment that adds nothing by someone who didn't even summarize the blog post. It is endlessly amusing, isn't it. ;)

Ulysses always had the ability to export to Medium and ... I never once used it. I set up a median account, setup the linkage, and ... no. But Ulysses has been very very good to me. I use it to write letters. I have used it to write some long stuff. I have Scrivener but it always just seemed super clunky. The notes where I am writing notes, I like to keep them in a separate app like Omni. If I didn’t do that, then Scrivener probably would be great. I don’t like it that Ulysses costs as much as it does, but maybe someday they will put in table support. But I guess the super way to get table support would be to start writing R markdown in R Studio (totally free), and export it out via Blogdown or Bookdown or whatever, and use a really powerful table package like Kable or GT to make real tables, and have bar charts too. Yeah!🍸😺

Typora will pretty much do the same thing, for free. 1Writer will get you home on iOS for a few dollars.

Otherwise, do your writing in a repo, and save countless headaches. Seriously. GitHub or Azure or GitLab… whatever. Pick one of those, and never lose your work, and have limitless app options.

They turned subscription based 1 year after I purchased at full price. I still have the old version as an archive on my Macbook Pro, but for my writing I turned to Apple Notes. Can't really see the difference, not missing markdown.
