umbp creaking

my 15inch umbp that i got in april is now creaking quite loudly when i lift up the lid to turn it on and again when i close it, is this normal or is it going to get worse

As far as I'm concerned, none of the MacBook Pro's should creak when opening or closing. If you're under the 14-days, I'd get a exchange.

no i got it in april so way over 14days

could it be a problem with the hinge?

It could be and probably is. Was it always like this or did it just start to happen? If it started day one, you should've got it exchanged if not, then your only option is to bring it to Apple and have them service it because it's not suppose to creak.

I have the same problem too.
however, it is not so worst for now
I'll contact applecare when it get louder.

Mine was made in October 2008 and does this ALL the time- it drives me nuts. I took it to the genius and he pretty much told me to get over it. Even though this machine has had $2000+ done in repairs alone. Oh well...
