How can I remove pictures from my iPad, when the original computer that was used to sync it has been stolen ?

Ok, but if I just want to remove some of the photos, not all ? I want to turn this feature off for pictures now. Music it's ok, but pictures I don't want automatically shared between devices at all unless I manually email them (or in the cloud for that matter) . Too dangerous !

Automatic syncing? You mean iCloud? You can disable them in iCloud settings by turning off Photo Stream. iTunes doesn't affect automatic sync.

Yes, I turned off Photo Stream, that got me in trouble somehow by sharing all my photos with another person, bad !
So you're saying hook up my iPad to a different laptop, and synch it ? That won't remove all my photos from the iPad ? Sounds like it would remove all photos previously synched, although I just want to remove a few.
I appreciate the help.

You can de-sync the photos while leaving the rest alone (music, apps, etc). You can also selectively delete photos from the camera roll.

There is no way to selectively delete images in folders that were created by iTunes, as far as I know. You need to delete them all at once.

So I can perhaps e-mail the photos I want to keep to my e-mail address first ? Then wipe all photos, and get the good ones from my e-mail...... I think ? :)

Email or AirDrop them to yourself. You should really make a backup of your important stuff, where they exist in more than one place. Photos are very easy to lose.
