Up till 9 months ago I was using a PC where I stored my iTunes library on my external drive to save space. Since getting a MAC I have been able to direct my library storage to the external drive. I can play the tunes individually but cannot access them.

So my help needed is why does iTunes refuse to recognise my library address when its on my external drive. All music I have downloaded since getting my MAC is fine but all my old iTunes is inaccessible

Thanks

Are you trying to open the iTunes library (.itl) file? If so, I don't think you can simply open a PC-formatted iTunes library on a Mac without going through some steps that I'm not even sure of.

If you mean that iTunes simply won't access your media, if you have a new library, you'll have to reimport the media from the drive.
