Unable to check for updates in the App Store

For the last 24 hours I have been unable to check for updates in the App Store through iTunes or with my iPhone.

I also notice no new apps since yesterday (9/4).

Is the App Store down?

Maybe they're prepping a new app update scheme for 2.1, and maybe 2.1 is coming today! A guy can dream.

I checked this morning and it was working fine for me. I guess the problem is not universal.

Same here. It messed up my daily regimen of checking for apps/updates every morning when I wake up and I ain't a happy camper. 😛
