About a week ago I bought a new iBook, and it's worked great except for one thing that has been bothering me for the past few days. About once a day, I'll be working on something when suddenly I am unable to click on anything! I've noticed on the few occasions it's happened that I've had Safari open, and on at least a couple occasions a quicktime file was open.

Neither my Logitech mouse nor the trackpad will allow me to left or right click when this happens. My programmed buttons on my mouse work for Expose and Dashboard, and I CAN click in Expose. I can also click on the bluetooth, sound, battery, date, and name in the titlebar, but the menu comes up slow and I can't select anything. The only other thing I can click on is in the Force Quit window. Restarting Finder doesn't help, and everything else is unclickable until I do a system reboot.

What is going on??!?! The only thing I can think of is a conflict with Gamepad Companion, since it affects both trackpad and mouse. Or not, since my other programmed keys still work. Help!!

I'll try that again. I've already repaired permissions once, but I don't remember if it was before or after this started happening.

No useful suggestions, but make sure that after any changes you make you *restart* and not simply logout, as the mouse drivers are loaded on boot.
