We just got Wi-Fi installed at work.
Everyone else with iPhones was able to log in and use it, but me.
I have a jbroken/unlocked iPhone 3GS and when I go to settings/wireless, it shows me the name of the network at work.
I can also see the strength of the signal on the top left of iPhone.
As soon as I click on the network to connect, the signal icon on top disappears, my phone tries to connect and times out every time.
I also checked the settings of the other iPhones that are able to connect and they all show 192.168.0.1 under router and DNS settings in the wireless settings. Mine on the hand, are blank in those fields. Yet, I do get an IP address and Subnet Mask.
I reset network settings in Setting> General> Reset> Reset networking settings. I have also hard rebooted the iPhone. Still the same issue.
I am able to connect to my home network and others, no problem Just not this one at work.
What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Please help.

Interesting situation.
I wonder if its a Blackrain bug assuming thats what you used to jailbreak.

I had this exact problem after a few months of a blackra1n JB.
To Fix i went to settings>Wi-Fi>yourNetwork>forget this network.

i then went to the settings of the network i was trying to join and filled in the details manually under 'static'.
The router and DNS will be 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask probably 255.255.255.0 (but check against other iphones), and then pick a suitably high IP address that it wont interfere with other users; 192.168.0.XX

After inputting the password i could connect, i then re-entered the network's settings and changed it back to DHCP. I never had reoccurrence of the problem for the rest of my blackra1n JB

I do not remember what I have used to jbreak anymore, as it has been a while
I do know that I am on 3.0. I never jbroken to the latest software.
Would it be worth rejbraking it to the latest software?
If yes, I also need an unlock.
Is there a program for both jbreaking and unlocking that is the best to use, which might have the least amount of issues?

Unless you have your SHSH's saved thru cydia you cant JB or unlock a 3GS or even restore it to an earlier firmware.
I advise you to stay where you are unless your 100% you know what you're up against cause you might lose your unlock.
