Unable to Copy URL

Cannot copy a youtube URL on line. I went to "Safari > Preference > General > Checked: Open Safe File After Downloading.
It worked one time only.
This is something new, I have been copying URL's for years.

If its youtube, why not just click the share link which brings up a url and copy that?

I went to the "Share" icon (three Dots) right click & "Save". The video did save & when I converted it to "dv" there is no sound.
