Unable to install safari.

i deleted safari from my mac today. now i want to reinstall it but i have a problem- when i downloaded safari from apple.com and tried to install it, the installer said that a newer version of safari was already installed even thought safari is not on my mac. how do i reinstall it?

Open your home account/library/preferences and look for the file safari.plist

Delete it then try the install again.
