I downloaded a video and when I try to open it with quicktime I get a error saying "Error opening movie, The movie could not be opened". The icon for the file says its a MPEG and get info just says MPEG Movie. I converted the file using a program called iSquint and it plays back fine. So I think I just need a plugin in order to read it. Any ideas of what plugins would open it?

EDIT: I have quicktime pro and have already tried the Perian plugin and its doing the same thing

Perhaps this is what you are looking for QT MPEG2

I have a similar problem. I just upgrade to Tiger and now I cannot open my old Mpeg's I dragged and dropped from my Lacie Drive. Whenever I try to open the file, the scroll wheel hangs up for 5 minutes and then I get thism essage "main: no suitable access module for `/Users/bobsmith/Desktop/Spamalot.avi'"

please help!
