I used the Apple Watch Studio builder on apple.com to pick a specific band I want with a Series 6, but then if I try to choose that style in the Buy section, the Add To Bag button is disabled. Anyone else seeing this?

Buy the band separately. That combination is probably sold out at the moment.

And spend another $50 to get the band that I want, on top of getting the watch with a band I don't want? No thanks.

I called up Apple sales and the guy told me that they're only offering the stock bundles at the moment, and they will be opening up custom bundles at a later date, which he could not tell me.

In the middle of several books.

I look at this way...Getting a default band is good for emergency backup purposes and more importantly, my new watch isn’t delayed unnecessarily. In addition to getting the Kumquat sport loop that comes with the watch, I also got the Solo and Braid loop.

I didn’t want to have to return the watch, if the default band was damaged or I didn’t really care for it, just to exchange for a new watch combo.

I already have several other bands that will serve that purpose. I am planning to do a trade-in of my Series 3 and the guy told me that all you need to trade in is the watch; you can keep the existing bands, charging cable, and everything else. So that will give me 1 more spare band.

Though I totally get where the guy is coming from, they probably don't have those bundles available so they can accommodate the base bundles first.

For those that are interested, I did some more digging and I believe I found the reason for this.

I did a chat via iMessage with the sales dept and I was told that the band is not in stock through the apple watch studio builder (and I was given several bands that are in stock).

So I dug further and saw that this specific band is a Spring 2020 band, and from what I've seen before, Apple typically discontinues most of the bands when the next season's bands are released. So it's likely the particular band I chose above (surf blue) is discontinued and will never be available as a combination.

So I ended up ordering one with the charcoal sport loop. ?
