I just tried a mock pre-order on an iPhone 5c to familiarize myself with the ordering process for the 5s on Friday. I elected to create a brand new, invididual account with a new phone number. I am getting the following error messages:

AT&T may also require a deposit in order for you to purchase a new iPhone; deposit can only be paid in an Apple Retail Store.

If the Personal Pickup option is not currently available, your iPhone will be removed from your Cart and youll be able to purchase an iPhone, depending on availability, in an Apple Retail Store."

Does this mean I will have no chance of ordering an iPhone 5s through Apple.com on Friday? I'm not sure why these error messages are appearing. Any help is appreciated.
