After I upgraded to iOS 13.1.2 I'm now unable to play a lot of songs from Music library that previously worked on iOS 12. For a lot of songs I get "This song is not currently available in your country or region."

I don't use the Apple Music subscription. All of my songs are imported from CDs into iTunes and are mostly non-US songs.

On iOS 12 I could import songs into iTunes, sync them to my iPhone, and play all of my music on my iPhone without issue. Why am I getting this error now? What does the song being available or not in my region have anything to do with me importing MP3's into iTunes and putting them on my iPhone? :(

seems to have been an issue with Apple Music on Catalina (10.15). apparently my iCloud sync for music got turned on after the update and Apple started syncing my music to the cloud. after I synced my iPhone through Mac Music and then wanted to play music from iPhone it stared to download my music from Apple instead of playing it locally instead -_-

anyway, my fix was to open the Music preferences on my Mac and under Restrictions Disable Music Profiles, Apple Music, and iTunes Store. after I synced my iPhone again through Mac Music again I was then able to play all of my music as before.

Gen’s solution worked for me too. Thanks!

As an Apple user since 1988, this whole music situation pisses me off. I bought the original iPod as soon as it came out in October 2001 and uploaded my nascent music collection. I bought the original iPhone in part because it promised “a widescreen iPod with touch controls.” Then I tried Apple Music last year and found out I could no longer manually sync music to my iPhone. Additionally, many playlists from my 50GB music collection were now incomplete because Apple didn’t have the copyright for these songs, even though they came from CDs that I owned and had uploaded to my iTunes. So I quit Apple Music and now use Amazon Music as my streaming service. And now this fiasco with iOS 13 and music only continues to erode my confidence in Apple.
