The said problem child is a MacBook mid 2009 running Mountain Lion.
I have previously been using a 19" external monitor as an additional display.
However I need something large and have a Toshiba REGZA 32" now mounted in front of my desk. But the MacBook says no. Screen remains blue and will not recognise.
I have attempted SMC and PRAM reset but still no joy.
The integrity of my connectors is not in question as I was using part of those connectors to hook up to additional monitor and those worked fine. The only additional cable that I brought to was convert to HDMI. Had initially used VGA cable that I had in the house but this still brought blue screen so went out an bought HDMI cable to check if this could be part of the problem. So cable integrity is not the issue or is unlikely to be.
Part of my question is if the connectors I am using are permissible technically.
Pictures attached.
What could be the problem. It's hugely frustrating as have spent a good few hours trying to find a solution.
