    I am running os x 10.6.7. I did a verify disk and got the error that the disk needs to be repaired from the original disk. I put in the original disk held cmd c after a while the grey screen goes black and tells me to power off (kernel panic) I am told. Anyone got any ideas on what to do now? Computer boots fine from HDD but need to repair it.

    Thansk:mad::)

    It's just C, not Command-C.

    If it still boots up off the HDD, I would try running fsck in single user mode instead of booting to the CD.

    You have to boot from the DVD to repair the disk. Booting in single user mode won't help.
