I've been facing this problem for quite some time already. Usually I'll save documents or pictures i found online where I will be using for a short while in desktop but now I cant.

Whenever I click my save target as Desktop, it will prompt me that unable to open target file for writing. What should I do? What causes this? Did I accidentally click on anything?

Please Help.

go into your home folder and right click on the desktop folder - get info

unlock at the bottom
in the users box, click on your name and in that drop down change to read/write, and then click the gear box down below. select "apply to enclosed items, press OK and you should be good to go

It's already in read/write status. i tried changing to others like writing only but to no avail. I can't even play with the changes.
