Hello,

I just bought a new Apple TV 4K and I am trying to set it up so the audio from my PS5 goes to my homepods.
I am having issues so I thought I'd ask you guys.

When I try and enable ARC, I get the following error:
"Unable to setup audio return channel .. Apple TV hasnt received a response from your televisions, but will keep trying ot connect. Make sure your TV HDMI port supports ARC and that no soundbars or AV receivers are attached"

- I have an HDMI cable connected from the ATV to HDMI port 4 on my Samsung TV. This port supports ARC.
- Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is turned on the TV
- My default audio output on my ATV is my stereo homepods
- The ATV and homepods are in the same room on HomeKit
- I have done a factory reset
- I have tried a couple of HDMI cables, but I get the same error
- The only things I have connected to my TV is the ATV and PS5

Thanks!

Hi,

What did you do exactly? Reset the whole TV? I have the exact same issue and I don’t know how to resolve it.
Thanks!
Nope, just unplugged the power, waited 15 seconds and plugged it back in. The error went away and I was able to connect to ARC.

Make sure you check out the other stuff I did Incase it doesn’t work.

I had major issues setting up ARC, in the end I unplugged all HDMI connections from the TV, plugged HDMI from the Apple TV back into the TV and setup ARC and this process worked for me, finally reconnected all other HDMI inputs.
