unable to type in box

Since upgrading to leopard (10.5.1)

occasionally I am unable to type into a box
or check a select box

this is happening in different apps.

or when trying to save/name a document

The cursor is placed in the box & is flashing but I cannot enter anything.

but If I re-launch the app it is corrected

(until the next time..)

Is anyone else experiencing this ?

What apps is this mainly occurring in?

These are also the apps that I use frequently.
So it feels like its happening everywhere.

Damn, that's annoying. If you create a new user account, does the same problem occur there?
