Is anyone experiencing this odd problem? I did a search and didn't find anything quite like this. The phone indicates there is an update available under Settings > General, with a number "1" in a red circle for software update. However, when I click that, it checks for an update and says "Software up to date". Current version is 11.0.1 but the newest is 11.1.1 which fixes some of the "A" and "I" texting issues. I performed a shutdown and reboot on the phone but still experiencing the same problem.

Try using iTunes for the update if it's not letting you do it OTA.
Do you have enough space on the iPhone left to download and instal the iOS update.

I would restore it through iTunes using the latest IPSW. It sounds like there’s a glitch somewhere in the software.
