Unavailable serial number

Hi I have a MacBook Air 11inch mid 2013.

I put a new battery and when I checked the serial number it’s says unavailable.

I searched Google to try and fix my serial number but I struggled.

I tried following the steps in this link below:

However I cannot understand why the restore keeps failing. It specifically says can’t find directory. Maybe I entered the wrong command? I’m not sure

Does anyone have any solution to how I can put back my original serial number? I have the serial number with me.

I can’t login to iMessages or FaceTime and it seems like that could be the reason why. But I’m not entirely sure. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Edit: it’s okay guys! I worked it out. I just had to put the right path in terminal.
