Carrier Unavle to reach carrier (AT&T)?

I'm trying to order my phone via Apple and I keep getting the error that they are unable to reach the carrier systems (AT&T). When I call AT&T they tell me their systems have been down since last night. I have a 7 plus coming Friday but am planning on returning it so I can re-order on AT&T Next and get the $650 for my iPhone 6

Anyone else having this issue?
