We just sailed across the Atlantic and coming in to Grenada my iphone slipped into the ocean with all my photos and videos since we left Scotland in August.
I was gutted.
3 days later, my OH hired a diver and amazingly he found the phone.
The leather case was covered in slime but to my utter astonishment the phone was still working.
We washed out the ports in fresh water and the phone seems as good as new.
What were the chances ?
Feeling blessed.

Nice. Good for you

I was last feb in Australia for a couple of weeks doing a round trip.
One day while driving about 60km/h filming out of the window a wind gust ripped me my iphone out of my hand on the asphalt.

thought this was it. But fortunately the 5€ mask helped more than expected. Just a small mark at one corner. Glas front and back survived :)

That is truly amazing 😃
Did you immediately back everything up to iCloud?
Reason I ask, I am not too sure how well Titanium deals with salt water but I know the other parts of the phone may overtime age faster given that it spent prolonged time in salt water.

Glad you were able to recover it though, these stories are always great to read!

Nice. The quick retrieval was most likely what saved the phone. And the IP water resistance, of course. Also, be sure to back it up ASAP if you haven't already. Salt water is not fresh water.

Just out of curiosity - was the phone sending location data while the diver was searching for it?

They're pretty robust. I dropped my 13 Pro down a cliff face in a cheap JETech clear case. Fell about 100 feet and bounced off rocks and into the sea. Fortunately was pretty shallow there. Took about 10 minutes to find it but it was absolutely fine!

I still have it as a backup phone. Just got a new battery a few weeks back.

Is this for real? I mean, they found a phone three days later in the ocean?

There are so many questions. How deep was it? How far from the dock/marina? How long did the diver have to look? How much did this cost??? How great are these photos? Can we see one or two? Did you tip the diver?

Well one day, I threw my pants into the washer, complete cycle, then into the dryer, full cycle. When I took out the laundry, my beautiful little green 12 mini was in the pocket of my pants. I put it in rice, and didn’t touch it for 3 days, luckily I had a backup phone. After 3 days, it worked perfectly fine, and didn’t have the red line in the sim tray.😊

She had the iPhone sock, so it stayed with her while she sunk Jack.
He had it coming.

We’ve some years ago been at a rest stop on the highway, one of us went to the toilet and we two stayed by the care. The other and I were talking about their solar panel battery bank and how it didn’t charge under the windshield, so they put it with their phone attached on the windshield next to the wipers.

Some minutes later about a minute after leaving the rest stop the phone flew across the windshield and behind the car.
The case was gone, and so was the prestine look on their new iPhone 6s. Had the screen replaced at a shady technician in some high rise in New York. The thing was properly scratched up and dinged in some places, but worked.
The powerbank charged for many more years, but not in their car :D
