I'll have it in hand in about 30 minutes. Unboxing pics to follow.

I'm at the Annapolis Westfield mall, about 50th in a line of about 300.

Sorry if this is the 500th thread on this, I'm posting from my iPhone.

Man that was intense haha, I got the White 3G iPad 32gb, I planned on getting.

Just snapped a couple of unboxing pics (I'll add shortly) and finally about to sit down and use it.

I can tell you right off, that it's thinness doesn't make it feel like it will easily break which is nice.

Here is one my wife snapped in the store haha. It was obviously a mad house, and everyone pretty much applauded every time a purchase was made. As you can see in my face I'm exhausted, as I was at the mall with my wife, and two young sons, Imagine that.

Here are some quick picks, taken with my iPhone in the car.

And, in the last one below, I took a pic of the iPad2 side by side a iPhone 4, to show you that, although the iPad2 is thinner than the iP4, it isn't that drastic (for those that cared about that point). Eh, the quality is crap, and with the glare on that iPad you almost can't tell, but you get the point.

And something I just found out once we put the smart cover on was that the iPad senses when the cover is down, and it puts itself to sleep, and vice versa, when you peel it off.

It's a pretty nifty feature that made me feel less annoyed about the $60 price tag.

What do you do with the cover when your using the iPad?

Does it lock to the back with the magnets?

Could the cover hold iPad weight or it would fall off if you grip only at cover?

it does but I dont think its on purpose as its not tight flipped around back. but the smart cover does easily fold all the way flat on the back.

Yea, my wife is using the smart cover now to prop the iPad on its side long way so she can lay on her side in bed and read with no hands .

Needless to say she loves it, and it's pretty damn convenient.

You just found this out? Are you kidding? This is your "fun fact about apple's smart cover"?

It folds back fine but it doesn't have enough magnetism to hold the cover against the back. It will hold it if it tilted like 80 degrees but then it will come off. But it does work nicely to protect the bottom when using it. Also used in both prop modes and it works as shown. It's surprisingly stable when upright, it was in that direction when I setup mail and stuff.

guys, chill out. did you miss the part about 2 young sons or the picture of him holding a baby no more than a couple months old? Clearly he has more in his life than keeping up on the latest smart cover features.

LOL.

I'm sorry, OP -- but Blorzoga is right. Things like that are usually common knowledge if you are on this forum.

I don't care. I'm posting on a forum, that I'm only a fan of, not a HARDCORE fan, so I'm sure I'll have my fair share of smartass remarks directed to me.

I normally post on a boxing forum so, I'm used to smartasses.

This fun fact was in the demo for the cover at the iPad 2 presentation. You might've seen it. It was the one that happened a couple of weeks ago with Jobs.

Yea, I just found this out.

My bad if I'm not as hardcore a fan as you about this ****. Relax.

Ya this forum is filled with them...also filled with people that notice the weirdest issues with iPads..iPhones (but i admit I see them too hahaha)

OP,
You're right not to let a couple of dweebs bother you. They need to lighten the ******* up!

Thanks for pictures.
With the smart cover who needs a stand.

Yea I agree.

I'm actually surprised as to how sturdy it feels when propped up too. The $70 price tag still stings, but needless to say, I don't regret it (at this point with low comp at least haha).
