iDownloadBlog had a full review of this case up yesterday. It looks like a really nice case. I like the Blue color too.

When Apple announced the iPhone X on September 12, the company also unveiled a new type of iPhone case called the "Leather Folio case," which has been specifically designed for iPhone X. Similar to existing wallet-style cases, the $99 Leather Folio accessory features a front cover that protects the iPhone X's screen when you aren't using it, and a few slots for cards or money.

Now that customers are beginning to get their iPhone X accessories in the mail ahead of the smartphone's launch on Friday, November 3, a few unboxing and hands-on videos have been posted on YouTube this week. The first video was posted by Walking Talking Tech, and focused on the iPhone X Leather Folio case in Taupe.

A look at the Leather Folio case in the new Berry colorway was shared by Ian Parkinson.

Japanese site Mac Otakara posted a video to its YouTube channel of the Berry Leather Folio case, providing a quick glimpse into how the accessory's magnets wake and sleep the iPhone X.

Besides Taupe and Berry, the Leather Folio comes in Black and Cosmos Blue. A quick 6-second video showcasing the Cosmos Blue color option can be found on Huiwen Huang's YouTube channel, while the Black Leather Folio case was shown off in a video published by Japanese YouTube channel KAKO.

You can purchase the iPhone X Leather Folio case on Apple.com for $99. As of writing, shipping estimates for Taupe and Black sit at around one week, while Cosmos Blue and Berry are a bit longer at 2-3 weeks. If you're interested in a more traditional case, Apple also sells the iPhone X Silicone Case ($39) and iPhone X Leather Case ($49).

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I really like portfolio cases for my iPhone. I just like that it gives it all around protection in the display and in the back. I have four different leather ones for my iPhone and they all look really nice and are well-made.

Until you drop your phone and this little extra protection stops it from landing directly on the floor and saves the AppleCare cost. And it’s an additional amount of leather.
My only concern is will it demagnetize my credit cards?
There are plenty of cases that will provide protection that are <<$99. I wouldn't even classify this case as "highly protective" as its main feature anyway.

Yeah it's a little high but they aren't the only ones in town doing it.
A company makes something, puts the price high and see if people buy it, if they do the price stays, if they don't the product goes away or the price drops.
Entirely up to the consumer to say this particular thing is worth it to me for this price.

I think we've forgotten the pricing Apple has always had on their products.
In the 80's an Apple IIe was $2700
Apple printers were $500-700
Floppy drive was $500
The newton was $700, which makes it around $1200 in todays pricing.
First iPods were $400-500

Apple has always been Apple.

I received one of the iPhoneX leather cases yesterday. Should have done an unboxing for a case? How silly of me to not think of that. The other two iPhoneX cases are the otterbox cases. Unboxing for those?

Never really understood the practicality of a folio phone case. I like being able to surreptitiously take a peek screen or get mail, text. Seems harder to do that if you have a cover.
You need an Apple Watch for peeking ! If you havent got one. Its magical (Tim says so)

I just got my X leather case in Black today and it has the same dye-striping on the back. No bad, but not amazing to notice.

A lot of times I can see crease marks from my Smart Cover on the screen my iPad. I would sure hate if a similar symptom showed up on my phone screen too. Since you’ll be gripping the inside of the cover when you hold the phone as you use it, oil from your hand might be the culprit. I like the regular Apple leather case a lot, so I may just stick with that.

Price is excessive, but i’ve always liked folio phone cases. I just hope there’s a way to disable the auto sleep/wake on closing and opening the cover like on the iPad. I like the feature but it has to be optional. Deal breaker if not.
